What could be greater than finding that perfect position in the robotics
and vision field? Finding that perfect job in the beautiful Rocky
Mountains!
Perception Engineer
Image Processing Engineer
Software Engineer
If you are interested in becoming a part of the PercepTek team,
please send your resume and cover letter to jobs@perceptek-robotics.com.
Perception Engineer
PercepTek, a research and development firm specializing in perception,
planning, and control for autonomous robotics, is seeking perception
engineers with strong backgrounds in real-time software development
in C++ under Linux. Candidates should have 3 to 5 years development
experience and experience with machine vision or image processing either
in a classroom setting or through hands-on projects. We are particularly
interested in candidates with graduate degrees and experience in real-time
processing, embedded software development, signal processing, robotics,
machine vision / computer vision, image understanding, and artificial
intelligence.
Typical tasks may include:
- processing radar, lidar, visible, or infrared imagery plus associated
telemetry
- visualizing raw sensor data, processed sensor data, and telemetry
- performing 3D reconstructions using either stereo imaging or structure-from-motion
techniques
- automatic threat detection and recognition using a variety of sensors
- tracking using correlation-, KLT-, meanshift-, or particle filter-based
approaches
- terrain classification and obstacle detection for UAV and UGV platforms
- performing trade studies that incorporate performance, weight,
power consumption, and algorithm choice for a variety of sensors
and computing hardware
- designing and documenting architectures for real-time processing
to support reactive control of unmanned vehicles
Because many of our contracts are ITAR restricted, we require that
all applicants be either US citizens or legal permanent residents.
Image Processing Engineer
PercepTek, a research and development firm specializing in perception,
planning, and control for autonomous robotics, is seeking signal-processing
engineers with strong backgrounds in real-time software development
in C/C++ under Linux. Candidates should have 3 to 5 years experience
in signal processing. We are particularly interested in candidates
with graduate degrees and experience in real-time processing, embedded
software development, robotics, machine vision / computer vision, image
understanding, and artificial intelligence.
Typical tasks may include:
- prototyping algorithms in Matlab
- processing radar, lidar, visible, or infrared imagery plus associated
telemetry
- visualizing raw sensor data, processed sensor data, and telemetry
- creating and updating “world model” representations
to support deliberative and reactive control algorithms
- image rectification, enhancement, restoration, and feature extraction
Because many of our contracts are ITAR restricted, we require that
all applicants be either US citizens or legal permanent residents.
Software Engineer
PercepTek, a research and development firm specializing in perception,
planning, and control for autonomous robotics, is seeking software
engineers with strong backgrounds in real-time software development
in C++ under Linux and a background in image processing or machine
vision, either through class work or as a professional. Candidates
should have at least 3 years development experience including some
exposure to real-time systems, network programming, RPC/IPC mechanisms,
multi-threaded programming, and embedded development. We are particularly
interested in candidates with graduate degrees and experience in signal
processing, robotics, machine vision / computer vision, image understanding,
and artificial intelligence.
Typical tasks may include:
- coordinating with subcontractors to test and integrate deliveries
into systems
- applying software engineering methodologies and techniques to design
and document system architectures, including module interfaces
- using tools like gprof, Rational Quantify, or Intel’s VTune
to profile system components and optimize code
- using tools like cppunit to implement comprehensive automated test
plans for continuous integration testing
- coordinating and participating in code reviews
- working with researchers and perception engineers to implement
algorithms and build GUIs for visualizing complex data and controlling
autonomous vehicles
Because many of our contracts are ITAR restricted, we require that
all applicants be either US citizens or legal permanent residents.
