Team Urbanator selected a 2007 Chevy Tahoe for the Urban Challenge competition.  Officially, the vehicle is dubbed “Rocky.”  The name was based on the geographical location of PercepTek, the team sponsor – near the Rocky Mountains! 

While “Rocky” started life as a normal sport utility vehicle, the 2007 Chevy Tahoe has been outfitted with state-of-the-art sensing, computation and navigation capabilities.  Rocky’s sensor suite provides redundant actuation control and excess power generation allowing the sensor or computation capabilities to be extended as needed.
